Pakistan and Bosnia sign accord on Defence, counter-terror cooperation

Pakistan and Bosnia and Herzegovina signed a memorandum of understanding in the field of trade and Defence. The Defence agreement was signed by Pakistan Defence Minister Syed Naveed Qamar and Bosnian Defence Minister Muhammad Ibrahimovic. The President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari and the the President of Bosnia and Herzegovina Bakir Izetbegovic both witnessed the ceremony.

President Asif Ali Zardari said that the Defence agreement will prove to be immensely beneficial for both the countries. Pakistan especially is combating terrorism and cooperation in the field of Defence will prove to be an important step. The President also mentioned that Pakistan will provide Bosnia and Herzegovina with a great market to trade and develop economic ties. Other sectors such as education were also mentioned as significant in establishing bilateral ties.

President Zardari also encouraged interaction between the two states at the entrepreneurial level. He also added that Pakistan continues to support Bosnia in its fight for territorial sovereignty.
