Pakistan Navy inducts 2nd Pak Marines Battalion

Pakistan Navy inducts 2nd Pak Marines Battalion October 15, 2012

Pakistan Navy has commissioned “2nd Pak Marines Battalion” in order to strengthen the naval defence. The purpose is to safeguard important naval assets; to improve the ground based Air Defence setup and the defence of the sea ports. Additionally Radar controlled guns and low level Defence Air Radars have also been introduced.

The Commissioning and Induction Ceremony was held at Pak Marine Headquarters, PNS Qasim and Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Muhammad Asif Sandila was the Chief Guest. The Chief of Naval Staff addressed the young inductees and motivated them to work diligently for the Defence of their country. He said that “defence of our motherland is a responsibility shared by all of us and a sacred undertaking that comes second to none. Where our perseverance and resilience remains to be the driving force behind our commitment to the protection of our frontiers, requisite wherewithal for undertaking this daunting challenge remains a vital ingredient as well".
