PM Raja Pervez Ashraf inaugurates IDEAS 2012

Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf in his address to the inaugural ceremony of IDEAS 2012 said Pakistan has effectively translated various threats both internal as well as external, into opportunities. He said “though these threats had affected its space to maneuver, there were opportunities to wade through these challenges”. Talking about the terms of Pak-US engagement, PM said he considers them opportunities rather than challenges. Prime Minister expressed his hope to expand relations with Moscow in the light of Russian aspiration to increase influence and diversify trade. “India's need for energy and trade with Central Asia was also largely dependent on Pakistan, while the Afghan trade was already carried out via Pakistan” Prime Minister said.
