Pakistan, Afghan army chiefs, ISAF commander meet in Kabul

Tripartite Commission (TPC) met Tuesday at Afghan Ministry of Defence, Kabul, ISPR sources said. The meeting was part of tripartite coordination system and attended by Chief of Army Staff General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani, Acting Isaf Commander Lieutenant General Nicholas Carter and Afghan COGS General Sher Muhammad Karimi along with their delegations. Ongoing military operations in Afghanistan and Pakistani tribal areas were discussed in the meeting. The participants also signed a document for tripartite border coordination mechanism to improve near border coordination. They also “discussed transition of responsibility from Isaf to ANSF as per the Isaf drawdown plan 2014 and measures to steadily develop Pakistan – Afghan mutual border coordination arrangements till and beyond 2014,” said ISPR press release. The three parties agreed to carry on collaboration for lasting success, peace and stability on both sides of the border.
