India's ruse to prepare for nuclear war: Pakistan must approach UNSC, says Mushahid

Pakistan should approach United Nations Security Council (UNSC) against India as it is busy in urging its people to prepare for a possible nuclear showdown with Pakistan after recent cease-fire violations at the Line of Control (LoC) by Indian troops, Senator Mushahid Hussain Sayed of the PML-Q said on Wednesday.

Chairman of the Senate's Standing Committee on Defence, was speaking on a point of order. Police in Indian-administered Kashmir, he said, had issued an advisory via media, urging people to build nuclear bomb-proof basements and accumulate food and water for at least two weeks.

Terming the malicious campaign part of psychological warfare by India, Mushahid said that he would take up the issue with his Indian counterpart. "As lawmakers, we have to play our due role in the wake of Indian aggression and negative tactics by way of media advertisement campaigns to put pressure on Pakistan and divert its attention from (the situation on its) western borders," he maintained.

India is conspiring for a greater role in Afghanistan, he said, adding that this "will not work as Pakistan has a clear-cut policy for peace and harmony in Afghanistan".
