Senate Defence Committee visited Sialkot Working Boundary

SIALKOT: Senator Mushahid Hussain Syed, Chairman Senate Standing Committee for Defense on Wednesday expressed concern over violation of working boundary by the Indian security forces and termed it a pre-plan violation by Indian Army. "He expressed solidarity with Pak Army, the locals and Pak Rangers who face severe Indian firing and shelling along the Working Boundary," he said while talking to media while visiting Charwa Sector in Sialkot.

Defence Committee holds the first ever Cyber Security Workshop for journalists

The Senate Defence Committee held the first ever cyber security workshop for journalists, in collaboration with Konrad Adenauer Stiftung, at Pakistan Institute of Parliamentary Services on 18th November, 2013.

The journalists were enlightened about various cyber security threats, taught practical steps to mitigate the risks and presented with a cyber security manual, specifically designed for journalists. This is the first ever manual released on such an issue.

Chinese Parliamentary Delegation meets Defence Committee

A Chinese Parliamentary Delegation, led by Dr. Wang Zhengwei, Vice Chairman CPCC, visited Islamabad from 28-30th Oct, 2013. The Chairman, Senate Defence Committee, warmly welcomed the delegation and proposed an inter-parliamentary dialogue on regional security. Dr. Wang agreed to the proposal and hoped that such endeavours which further strengthen Pak-China relations would continue. He was introduced to all the members of the committee and apprised of its working.
